This varies significantly based on the severity of your symptoms and the complexity of your situation. For straightforward OCD or anxiety disorders, research suggests 12-20 sessions of focused treatment can produce significant improvement. Complex cases involving trauma or substance use typically require longer treatment.

I don’t believe in keeping you in therapy forever. My goal is to give you the tools you need to manage on your own. We’ll regularly assess progress and adjust the treatment plan accordingly.

Many therapists say they treat anxiety, but fewer have specialized training in evidence-based approaches like ERP for OCD or exposure-based CBT for panic disorder. Even fewer are comfortable treating cases where anxiety is complicated by trauma or substance use.

My practice is built specifically around this expertise. I don’t dabble in anxiety treatment—it’s what I do, and I bring decades of experience with the most challenging cases.

For OCD and many anxiety disorders, exposure work is the core of effective treatment. Avoiding what you fear maintains anxiety; facing it gradually is how you break free.

That said, I never force you to do anything. We’ll work collaboratively at a pace that challenges you without overwhelming you. The exposures we choose will be meaningful to your life and goals.

No. I understand that many people with severe anxiety have turned to alcohol or other substances for relief. Demanding you quit before addressing the anxiety that drives the use rarely works.

Depending on your situation, we might work on both simultaneously, or I might recommend additional support for the substance use. If your use is severe enough to require medical detox or intensive treatment, I’ll help you access those resources first. But I won’t refuse to work with you simply because substances are part of your coping.

No, I’m a therapist, not a prescriber. However, I work collaboratively with psychiatrists and other medical providers. If I think medication might be helpful, I can provide a referral and coordinate your care.

Many of my clients use medication alongside therapy. I’m comfortable working with clients, whether they’re taking psychiatric medication or not.

Yes, I offer teletherapy and provide virtual sessions to residents of Georgia, Florida, and Delaware.

All you need is a private area free from interruptions and a good internet connection.

This is common, and there are many reasons previous therapy might not have helped:

  • It wasn’t the right type of therapy (not all therapy is created equal)
  • The therapist didn’t have specialized training in your specific issues
  • Underlying problems weren’t addressed
  • You weren’t ready at the time
  • It simply wasn’t the right fit

I work with many people who’ve been through therapy before. Often, targeted treatment with someone who specializes in your specific struggles makes all the difference.

OCD involves intrusive, unwanted thoughts (obsessions) that cause significant distress, along with behaviors or mental rituals (compulsions) you feel driven to perform to reduce that distress. The compulsions provide brief relief but ultimately maintain the cycle.

In our initial consultation and assessment sessions, I can help clarify your diagnosis and explain how it affects your treatment plan.

If your anxiety or OCD is interfering with your life—affecting work, relationships, daily activities, or your happiness—it’s worth addressing. You don’t have to be at rock bottom to deserve help.

That said, effective treatment for anxiety and OCD requires active participation and regular practice. If you’re not ready to commit to that work, therapy may not be helpful yet. We can discuss this in your initial consultation.

You must give me a 24-48 hours notice required or you’ll be charged the full session fee of $185.
